Kangana Ranaut has spoken out amid the controversy surrounding Trisha Krishnan, calling attention to what she sees as a persistent double standard in the way women are treated when their personal lives become public.
Although Kangana did not name Trisha directly, her comments appeared to address the controversy involving the actress and remarks made about her.

Speaking to reporters after chairing a District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting in Kullu, Kangana pointed to the way women are often made the target of abuse and character attacks even when a controversy involves two people.
“You have seen what happened in Tamil Nadu, where a very respected artist and actress was involved in a matter where the relationship was between both parties. However, when it comes to abuses and character assassination, it is always the woman who is targeted,” Kangana said.
She argued that the pattern is not limited to India, saying successful women, including actors, politicians and women in positions of power, are often targeted in attempts to damage their reputations.
“We all know that this is not restricted to India alone and is prevalent worldwide,” she added, pointing to the scrutiny faced by women in public life.
Kangana’s comments come amid the backlash surrounding remarks made about Trisha, bringing renewed attention to the way female celebrities can become the focus of personal attacks and speculation.
