Sudha Murty has this special advice for daughter Akshata & son-in-law PM Sunak

Sudha’s husband Narayana Murthy, Indian billionaire and co-founder of IT giant Infosys, did not want to comment on British politics when asked about the rise of the Indian-origin premier.

NARAYANA Murthy, co-founder of Indian information technology giant Infosys, and his educator and philanthropist wife Sudha Murty, have a piece of precious advice for their high-profile daughter and son-in-law which is: “People will always talk whatever you are doing. So, ignore that.”

Akshata Murthy, their daughter, is a businesswoman and venture capitalist, while their son-in-law Rishi Sunak is the prime minister of the UK.

Recently, the veteran duo were speaking with India’s NDTV exclusively in which they spoke about the impact that public opinions have on their family and shared their way of handling criticism.

“I always tell them [Akshata and Rishi], people talk because of your position. And if you’re honest, if you’re helping your country, your job – what you’re doing – people will always talk. ‘Kuch toh log kahenge, logon ka kaam hai kehna’ (people will always talk, it is what they are known for). So, ignore that,” Murty said.

Akshata met Sunak when they studied at Stanford University and the couple got married in 2009. They have two daughters.

“As long as the work you do is ethical and legal, do that. You don’t need anyone as a witness; God is the witness. Do your work, let them talk. It may affect you for some time, but in the long run, you should learn to let them talk, and you do your work,” Murty was quoted as saying by the Indian channel.

Narayana Murthy chose to be more diplomatic when he was asked about the rise of Sunak to become the prime minister of the UK, the first of Asian origin.

“As foreigners, we have this respect for not commenting on the affairs of another country. Therefore, we just do not comment on those issues. We have very close, harmonious, and affectionate personal relations, but that’s where it stops,” the 77-year-old billionaire said.

Sunak became the prime minister in October 2022, amid a turmoil in the Conservative Party.
