Jammwal plays Dhalsim, one of the best-known characters from the Street Fighter video game series. The character is known for his extraordinary flexibility, yoga abilities, mystical powers and fire-breathing skills.
The role is a natural fit for Jammwal, who is known for his martial arts background and physical abilities. His training in Kalaripayattu and yoga has also become a major part of his screen persona.
At the trailer launch, he demonstrated that physical control in an unusual way, remaining still for around 15 minutes while holding his breath. His eyes stayed open throughout the moment, with his eyes eventually watering and his legs beginning to tremble slightly.
Jammwal also spoke about sharing the film with major international names, saying he was surrounded by figures including rapper 50 Cent and WWE wrestlers during the project.
Street Fighter is scheduled to hit theaters on October 16, 2026.
