Hina Khan has stirred fresh debate after questioning how society views Aamir Khan's third marriage. Her remarks have reignited discussions about celebrity relationships, public image, and the criticism surrounding the Bollywood star's personal life.

Aamir Khan's third marriage sparks reaction from Hina Khan: "Getting married again? Left this one too?"

Hina explained that she was not criticizing Aamir personally. Instead, she said she was describing how many people in society react to repeated marriages.

Highlights:

  • Hina Khan questioned public perception of Aamir Khan's third marriage.
  • She said society often views multiple marriages negatively.
  • Rubina Dilaik said an actor's personal life can affect public opinion.
  • Aamir recently responded to "love jihad" allegations following his marriage.
  • The actor said none of his wives converted to Islam for marriage.

Aamir Khan's recent marriage to longtime friend Gauri Spratt has once again put his personal life in the spotlight. While many fans congratulated the couple, others criticized the actor for marrying for the third time. The conversation grew louder after actor Hina Khan shared her views on how society looks at multiple marriages during a recent episode of the podcast the4POV, which she co-hosts with Rubina Dilaik.

Hina Khan questions public perception

During the discussion, Rubina Dilaik said she believes an actor's personal life can influence how audiences view their work. Responding to that, Hina said, "By that logic, none of Aamir Khan's films should work."

Rubina replied that Aamir has largely stayed away from major controversies throughout his career. Hina then questioned that view, asking, "Is this (his marriage to Gauri) any less controversial?"

Hina explained that she was not criticizing Aamir personally. Instead, she said she was describing how many people in society react to repeated marriages.

She said, "The average person would naturally think, 'Seriously? Getting married again? Left this one too?'"

Hina added, "It isn't considered very good in our society, Rubina… marriage after marriage after marriage."

Rocky Jaiswal, who also appeared on the podcast with Hina, added another perspective, saying, "Forget about marriage; even divorce is not viewed favourably."

The discussion quickly gained attention online, with many social media users debating whether celebrities should be judged for their personal relationships or only for their professional work.

Aamir Khan responds to "Love Jihad" allegations

Soon after marrying Gauri Spratt earlier this month, Aamir faced criticism from some Hindu right-wing groups. Some even called him "the brand ambassador of love jihad."

The actor rejected those allegations during an interview with Rediff.

He said, "The truth is that ours is a very inclusive family. Both my sisters are married to Hindus; my daughter is also married to a Hindu. My cousin Mansoor is married to a Christian. Neither Gauri, Kiran nor Reena converted their religion, as we had civil marriages. Gauri is not even Hindu, she is Christian, and not even a practising Christian at that. Life is getting more comical as time passes."

Aamir said his family's history clearly shows that people from different faiths have married without religious conversion.

A look at Aamir Khan's marriages

Aamir Khan married Gauri Spratt in a private ceremony at his home in Bandra, Mumbai, on July 5. She is his third wife.

His first marriage was to Reena Dutta in 1986. The couple has two children, Junaid and Ira Khan. They divorced in 2002 after more than a decade together.

Aamir later began a relationship with filmmaker Kiran Rao in 2004. They married in 2005 and welcomed their son, Azad, through surrogacy in 2011. The couple announced their separation in 2021.

Despite both marriages ending, Aamir has continued to maintain cordial relationships with both Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao. His latest marriage has once again sparked discussion about how the public views celebrity relationships, divorce, and remarriage, with Hina Khan's comments adding a new layer to the ongoing debate.
