INDIAN cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir has allegedly received a third threat via email from terror outfit ‘ISIS Kashmir’. The email also claimed that the Delhi Police force has the outfit’s spies and hence was unable to do anything.
The Delhi Police confirmed receipt of the third email threat to Gambhir, 40, and said that the city police has also been mentioned in the letter.

“Delhi Police and IPS Shweta Chauhan (who is a DCP or deputy commissioner of police, Central District) cannot do anything as our spies are also present in the forces,” the threat email received from ‘ISIS Kashmir’ allegedly read.
Senior officials in Delhi Police said that the complaint has also been marked to the cyber cell and an investigation is underway to identify the source of the email.
Last week, Gambhir, a member of India’s World Cup-winning teams in 2007 and 2011, approached Delhi Police after receiving the first death threats from ‘ISIS Kashmir’. The police told Asian News International that the BJP leader approached them after alleging about the threats.
Security has been beefed up outside Gambhir’s residence.
“The investigation is underway. Security has been beefed up outside Gambhir's residence. We have received an Email from ISIS-Kashmir on the official ID of MP Gautam Gambhir on November 23 at 9.32 pm,” Chauhan was quoted as saying by reports.
Gambhir, who received another threat despite the tightening of security outside his residence, is known to be a staunch nationalist who is extremely vocal about the issue of terrorism in Kashmir.
In December 2019, he had approached the Delhi Police alleging that he and his family members received death threats from an international number.
