Indian business tycoon Gautam Adani saw his ranking on the list of the world's richest individuals by one place on Friday (16) to become the second-richest to trail only Elon Musk but only for a brief period. According to Forbes' real-time billionaire list, the Gujarat-born billionaire went past Amazon founder Jeff Bezos with a worth of $152.6 billion (£133.7 billion).
But he dropped to the third position as French billionaire Bernard Arnault of Louis Vuitton, who he had pipped last month, went to the second spot with a net worth of $153.7 billion (£134.7 billion).
Musk, the richest, has a net worth of $273.5 billion (£240.5 billion).
Bezos is now the fourth richest with a wealth totalling $149.7 billion (£131.6 billion) after declining by $2.3 billion (£2 billion).
Mukesh Ambani, the other Indian in the top 10, is at the eighth position with $91.6 billion (£80.28 billion).
Adani is a first-generation entrepreneur who heads the Adani Group which includes a number of publicly listed companies in fields such as infrastructure, mining, energy, and others.
