A 22-year-old Indian social media influencer has been found hanging on the terrace of her house and police, who revealed the news on Tuesday (27), suspected it to be a case of suicide.
The incident happened in Raigarh district of the central-eastern state of Chhattisgarh.
According to reports, Leena Nagwanshi hanged herself when her mother went out. She saw her daughter's hanging body on returning and brought it down herself believing that she was alive.
According to a report by NDTV, Nagwanshi, who was doing graduation in commerce, used her dupatta (a long piece of cloth worn by women from South Asia around the head, neck, and shoulders) to take the drastic step. The police said that no suicide note was found.
Her body was sent for post-mortem.
The police said the cause of the death could be ascertained after the examination and that they were investigating all angles.
A case has been registered and Nagwanshi's phone has been taken by the cops for probe.
Nagwanshi had identified herself on her Facebook handle as a YouTuber and used to post her reels on Instagram and had more than 11,000 followers.
Her father is a government officer posted in Surguja district of Chhattisgarh.
