Isha Ambani made one of the biggest fashion statements at Paris Haute Couture Week without saying a word. While Rahul Mishra's couture creations captivated the runway, it was the businesswoman's tiny Hermès Birkin that sparked conversation among luxury watchers.

Estimated to be worth around $2 million, the Hermès Birkin Sac Bijou is far from an ordinary handbag. Covered with 3,025 brilliant-cut diamonds totaling more than 111 carats, the jewel-like accessory is considered one of the rarest and most valuable Birkins ever created.

A Birkin designed as high jewelry

Created by Pierre Hardy as part of Hermès' Haute Bijouterie Collection, the Birkin Sac Bijou reimagines the fashion house's iconic handbag as a piece of fine jewelry.

Instead of leather, the miniature design is crafted from 18-karat white gold and hand-set with thousands of diamonds. The flap features a crocodile-inspired white gold finish, while the rest of the bag is paved with sparkling stones, turning it into a collector's piece rather than an everyday accessory.

According to Sotheby's and luxury reseller Privé Porter, the handbag is valued at approximately $2 million. Reports also state that it belongs to Isha's mother, Nita Ambani.

A couture look to match

Isha paired the extraordinary accessory with a custom gray couture gown by Rahul Mishra for his Fall/Winter 2026 presentation in Paris.

The look featured a structured corset embellished with intricate beadwork, a sweetheart neckline, and a flowing skirt finished with a subtle ombré effect. A matching stole completed the ensemble.

She accessorized with Lorraine Schwartz diamonds, including a rivière necklace centered on a 30-carat cushion-cut diamond pendant, matching pear-shaped earrings, and a seven-carat oval-cut diamond ring. Her sleek updo and understated makeup kept the focus on the couture and the standout handbag.

Why the Birkin remains the ultimate luxury symbol

Since its debut in 1984, the Hermès Birkin has become one of the world's most coveted handbags, with limited production and meticulous craftsmanship making it a favorite among collectors.

Each Birkin is handcrafted by a single artisan, but exceptional editions like the Sac Bijou take exclusivity to another level. Combining haute joaillerie with the house's signature design, it represents one of the most extravagant interpretations of the iconic bag.

Isha was among several prominent guests at Rahul Mishra's Paris Haute Couture Week show, where Indian craftsmanship once again took center stage on one of fashion's most prestigious global platforms.
