PAMELA ANDERSON, known for her early career in television and modelling, is now considering a move to the stage following her well-received performance in “The Last Showgirl”.

The 57-year-old actress said that her role in Gia Coppola’s film made her feel like a “real actress” for the first time.

“This (role) came to me as a surprise, when I thought it was the end of my career as an actress,” Anderson said in Paris. “Now I feel like an actress. But I didn’t really know if I was before. I was just doing the best I could.”

Anderson’s performance has received strong critical praise, with The New York Times calling her “dazzling” and The Guardian stating that she had “single-handedly rewritten the way she is viewed as an actor.”

The role earned her a Golden Globe nomination and renewed interest in her acting career.

Anderson, who gained international fame as lifeguard CJ Parker on “Baywatch”, now hopes to explore theatre, particularly classic works.

“I hope to do a Tennessee Williams play one day. I would love that. Why can’t you imagine it? You’ve just gotta keep surprising people. That’s my goal,” she said.

Coppola, granddaughter of “Godfather” director Francis Ford Coppola, cast Anderson in “The Last Showgirl” after watching the Netflix documentary “Pamela: A Love Story”, which chronicled her career and personal life.

Anderson’s resurgence is similar to that of fellow 1990s star Demi Moore, whose performance in “The Substance” challenged industry perceptions of ageing actresses.

Off-screen, Anderson has embraced a quieter life on Vancouver Island, where she has focused on plant-based cooking and animal rights advocacy.

She released a cookbook last year and hosts a TV cooking show, Pamela’s Cooking with Love.

Reflecting on her personal life, Anderson acknowledged its unpredictability.

“I have appreciation for my wild and messy life because I have so much to draw from,” she said. “And it definitely wasn’t boring.”

She remains open to future opportunities but is content with the uncertainty. “I don’t really know what’s next. There’s a lot of opportunity out there, but I’m okay with living in the mystery of what’s next,” she said.
