TELUGU superstar Allu Arjun on Tuesday visited the private hospital where Sritej, a boy injured in a stampede during “Pushpa 2: The Rule” premiere, is receiving treatment.
Arjun spent about 10 minutes with the boy, checking on his health. The visit occurred in the presence of producer Venkata Ramana Reddy (Dil Raju), who is also the chairman of the Telangana Film Development Corporation (FDC).
Heavy police security was arranged at the hospital during the visit, with authorities concerned about maintaining public order.
Arjun’s visit had originally been scheduled for January 5 but was postponed. The actor is named in an ongoing legal case, as he is accused No. 11 following the tragic incident on December 4.
In a move to prevent any disruptions, the SHO of Ramgopalpet Police Station had instructed Arjun to keep the visit confidential, ensuring public order was maintained. The police assured that necessary measures were in place for his hospital visit.
A medical bulletin from the hospital indicated that Sritej’s health had improved. His vital signs were stable, and he had been fever-free for several days.
His antibiotics had been stopped, and he was able to tolerate nasogastric feeds. However, the boy continued to experience reduced agitative episodes and showed intermittent eye-opening and crying, though there was no consistent response to stimuli.
Arjun had previously expressed his concern for Sritej and his family, sending well wishes for a speedy recovery. Due to the legal situation, he had been advised not to visit the boy directly.
However, Arjun’s father, Allu Aravind, along with Mytri Movie Makers and director Sukumar, donated Rs 20 million to the boy’s family.
The tragic stampede occurred on December 4 at Sandhya theatre in Hyderabad during the “Pushpa 2” premiere.
The incident led to the death of a woman and the injury of her eight-year-old son. The case filed in connection with the incident includes charges against Arjun, his security personnel, and the theatre management.
Arjun was arrested on December 13 but was granted interim bail by the Telangana High Court the following day. He was later granted regular bail on January 3.
