Dhurandhar: The Revenge, directed by Aditya Dhar, has crossed $50 million at the overseas box office, becoming only the seventh Indian film to achieve this milestone.
The film, starring Ranveer Singh, has earned over $211 million worldwide, with more than $54 million coming from overseas markets. As of April 22, its international total stands at $50.5 million. Notably, it reached this figure without releasing in China or the Middle East, two major markets for Indian films.
Unlike Dangal ($238 million), Secret Superstar ($138 million), and Bajrangi Bhaijaan ($82 million), which earned heavily in China, Dhurandhar 2 has collected its revenue from a broader global market. Similarly, Disco Dancer ($76 million) performed strongly in the Soviet Union.
The film also did not release in six Gulf countries due to an unofficial ban linked to its perceived anti-Pakistan stance. Despite missing this key region, it still crossed the $50 million mark. Other films like Baahubali 2: The Conclusion and RRR avoided China but earned significant revenue from the Middle East, unlike Dhurandhar 2.
On its way to this milestone, the film surpassed overseas earnings of several major titles, including Sholay ($28 million), Bobby ($29 million), Caravan ($39 million), Pushpa 2 ($31 million), PK ($46 million), Jawan ($47 million), and Pathaan ($49 million).
The film is currently earning less than $100,000 per day internationally, making it difficult to surpass RRR ($53 million).
The Dhurandhar franchise, a spy thriller series, was first released in December and became a blockbuster, with the sequel in March achieving even greater success. The cast also includes Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Arjun.
