The trailer of Raja Shivaji has created buzz for both its story and a special family moment. Riteish Deshmukh has introduced his 10-year-old son Rahyl Deshmukh to the big screen, marking the child’s acting debut.
In the film, Rahyl plays the younger version of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The trailer opens with young Shivaji speaking about swaraj, setting the tone for the historical story. His appearance has quickly caught attention and added an emotional touch to the project.
The movie features Riteish Deshmukh in the lead role of Shivaji, while Genelia Deshmukh plays Saibai. The trailer also shows large battle scenes, giving a glimpse of Shivaji’s struggles, especially against the Mughal Empire.
The film includes a strong supporting cast with actors like Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Mahesh Manjrekar, and Bhagyashree. During the trailer launch in Mumbai, Riteish shared his thanks to the cast and said that Abhishek supported him “like a brother.”
Beyond being a big historical film, Raja Shivaji is also a personal milestone for the Deshmukh family. Rahyl, who was born in 2016, is their younger son. Riteish and Genelia have often said they want their children to follow their own interests, and this debut reflects that approach.
The film is produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Genelia Deshmukh. It aims to combine history, action, and emotion on a large scale.
Raja Shivaji is set to release in theaters on May 1, 2026, and is expected to be both a cinematic spectacle and a meaningful family moment.
