AAMIR KHAN recently revealed that Salman Khan helped him secure the title for “Dangal” during its pre-production phase. While the title was part of the film’s script, its rights were held by Puneet Issar.
Aamir turned to Salman for assistance, knowing the latter’s close connection with Puneet. Salman made a call and facilitated a meeting between Aamir and Puneet.
The outcome was favorable, as Puneet agreed to transfer the title. “Puneet was very generous in the process,” Aamir shared.
The clarification also dispelled rumours of animosity between Salman and Aamir, which had arisen due to the wrestling themes of their respective films, “Sultan” and “Dangal”.
Released in 2016, “Dangal” featured Aamir as Mahavir Phogat, a determined father who coaches his daughters to become internationally acclaimed wrestlers.
The film was both a critical and box office success, cementing its place as one of Indian cinema’s landmark productions.
