SRI LANKA is currently witnessing an unprecedented crisis which has not only left its economy in ruins but also left it in a volatile condition. The president of the country has fled the country after several thousands of protesters stormed his residence last week and there is no light at the end of the tunnel yet as people face massive sufferings.

However, amid all the noisy protests and violence, a picture from the island-nation has gone viral on social media. It is getting a lot of traction because of a completely different mood it speaks about.

The picture in discussion shows a couple kissing each other’s lips in front of several protesters who recently stormed the prime minister’s office in Colombo, the national capital. The couple reportedly took part in the anti-government protests but amid all the anger, did not forget their soft corners for each other and indulged in a public display of affection.

Sri Lankan president Gotabaya Rajapaksa, who was expected to step down from his post on Wednesday (13), was yet to do the same. He fled the country with his wife and security to the Maldives from where he reportedly flew to Saudi Arabia via Singapore on a jet from the kingdom.

In Rajapaksa’s absence, Sri Lankan prime minister Ranil Wickremasinghe was appointed as the acting president by the speaker of the country’s parliament and it infuriated the protesters more and they demanded an immediate change in the government.

However, for the couple in love, the world still remained a rosy place.
