Shah Rukh Khan has revealed that his highly anticipated movie King faced an unexpected setback during filming, with the actor suffering multiple injuries that forced production to stop and restart several times.
The superstar shared the update during an Ask Me Anything session on X on Tuesday, while also reassuring fans that the movie's release date has not changed.
Shah Rukh Khan opens up about King setbacks
Fans have been eagerly waiting for an update on King, with one user asking SRK when they could expect news about the movie and its trailer.
Rather than revealing details about the trailer, Shah Rukh encouraged fans to wait for the movie itself, saying he was not trying to make them wait but was working to make something that would satisfy audiences.
He added that everything would arrive before the movie's December 24 release.
The actor later gave fans a glimpse into the difficulties behind the production when another user asked for an update.
“Had a few injuries while shooting so had to start stop many times,” SRK wrote, adding that everything was now fixed and the movie was “nearly all done”.
King release date remains on track
Shah Rukh's comments come after speculation that King could be delayed from its scheduled Christmas 2026 release.
However, the actor's latest update indicates that the movie remains on track for December 24, 2026.
The film is directed by Siddharth Anand and marks Shah Rukh's return to theaters following Dunki. His daughter Suhana Khan also stars in the movie, alongside Deepika Padukone and Abhishek Bachchan.
SRK teases what fans can expect
While Shah Rukh did not reveal much about the plot, he suggested that the movie has been designed to deliver plenty for his audience.
