Shah Rukh Khan's 'King' could land a massive $5.7 million music deal as it breaks records before release

Months before its Christmas 2026 release, King is already making headlines. Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming action film is reportedly close to signing one of the biggest music rights deals in modern Bollywood history.

Shah Rukh Khan's 'King' could land a massive $5.7 million music deal as it breaks records before release

Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan attends the unveiling ceremony of a Dubai-based property named after him in Mumbai on November 14, 2025.

Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for another major release with King, directed by Siddharth Anand, and the film is already creating buzz long before it reaches theaters. Following the blockbuster success of Pathaan and Jawan in 2023, expectations are sky-high for the superstar's next big-screen outing.

According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the music rights for King have become one of the hottest properties in the Indian film industry. Several major music labels—including Sony Music, Saregama, and T-Series—are reportedly competing to secure the rights.

A source told the publication, "With Sachin - Jigar on board, King music is among the hottest properties of the year. Sony, Sare Gama and T Series are making big bids to fetch the music. Leading the race is one of the above with an offer of around Rs 50 crore."

At the current exchange rate, ₹50 crore is approximately $5.7 million USD.

If the deal is finalized, it would rank among the biggest music rights agreements for a Hindi film in recent years.

The source further added, "King is setting records in non-theatrical business. It is on the verge of sealing one of the biggest deals ever for an original music album in Hindi. One must note that Ramayana is Rs 75 crore for both parts together, and King is on the verge of closing with Rs 50 crore with a single film."

For comparison, the reported ₹75 crore music deal for both parts of Ramayana is worth roughly $8.6 million USD, making King's reported $5.7 million agreement especially impressive for a single movie.

The film's soundtrack is composed by the popular music duo Sachin-Jigar, whose involvement has reportedly increased competition among music companies eager to acquire the album.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, King is scheduled for a theatrical release during the Christmas 2026 holiday season. Production is nearly complete, with only about 15 days of filming remaining. Meanwhile, post-production and editing are already underway as the team prepares the film for its highly anticipated release.

With a record-setting music deal potentially on the horizon and Shah Rukh Khan leading one of the year's biggest films, King is proving that its business momentum extends far beyond the box office.
