SOUTH AFRICA continued their dominance over India in the home series and clinched the three-match one-day international series by winning the second match at Boland Park in Paarl by seven wickets.
The Proteas chased down the target of 288 set by the visitors losing just three wickets and with 11 balls to spare. Openers Janneman Malan (91) and Quinton de Kock (78) paved the way for an easy victory by scoring 132 runs for the first wicket.

Subsequent batters ensured that the game never slipped out of the home team’s grasp after the opening duo were dismissed.

Captain Temba Bavuma made 35 while both Aiden Markram and Rassie van der Dussen remained unbeaten on 37 to take their side home.
India captain KL Rahul used as many as seven bowlers but only three of them – Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal and Shardul Thakur managed to take wickets.
Earlier in the day, India put up a total of 287 for 6 after Rahul won the toss and chose to bat. The captain (55) gave his side a good start with Shikhar Dhawan (29) as the pair put up 63 runs for the first wicket. However, former captain Virat Kohli fell for nought to leave India at 64 for 2. Rahul then added 115 runs with wicket-keeper-batter Rishabh Pant (85) even though he got lives on a few occasions.
After Rahul and Pant exited in quick succession, Venkatesh Iyer (22), Thakur (40 not out) and Ravichandran Ashwin (25 not out) helped India to reach 287 in 50 overs.
For South Africa, spinner Tabraiz Shamsi picked two wickets while Sisanda Magala, Markram, Keshav Maharaj and Andile Phehlukwayo got one each.
De Kock, whose 78 came in just 66 balls, was adjudged the player of the match.
The third and the final game will be played in Cape Town on Sunday (23).
South Africa won the Test series 2-1 after losing the first match.
