India PM’s fans hold ‘Run for Modi’ in London to back his re-election bid

More than 500 participants joined the ‘Run for Modi’ event, which despite its name was more of a leisurely walk amid drizzling.

LONDON on Sunday (28) witnessed a vibrant and enthusiastic crowd of supporters of prime minister Narendra Modi and his party, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), gathering for an event ‘Run for Modi’ to mobilise support for the PM in his bid to get elected for the third consecutive time in the ongoing national elections.

Orchestrated by the Overseas Friends of BJP (OFBJP) UK (UP Chapter), the event showcased unwavering support for both the PM and his party among the Indian community in the UK and was highly successful in achieving its goal, a release by the organising committee said.

More than 500 participants joined the ‘Run for Modi’ event, which despite its name was more of a leisurely walk amid drizzling — starting from Westminster Pier, traversing through the heart of London and culminating at the iconic Tower Bridge.

The participants marched in unison and echoed their endorsement for Modi, the press release added.

The highlight of the event was a captivating flash mob that unfolded against the backdrop of the majestic London Bridge. Their vibrant and energetic display encapsulated the spirit of unity and camaraderie among the Indian community in the UK, underscoring their unwavering support for both Modi and his party, it also said.

Anand Arya, vice president of OFBJP UK, expressed profound gratitude towards the Indian community for their overwhelming participation in the event.

Suresh Mangalgiri, general secretary, OFBJP, said, ‘The ‘Run for Modi’ event exemplifies the deep-rooted admiration and allegiance of the Indian community towards prime minister Narendra Modi and the BJP.

“Despite the adverse weather conditions, the enthusiasm and spirit displayed by the participants were truly commendable,” said Darshan Grewal, vice president of OFBJP UK, overseas, the release added.

 

The ‘Run for Modi’ event captured significant attention and praise across diverse media channels, thereby reinforcing the message of unity and solidarity within the Indian community in the UK. Its resounding success stands as clear evidence of the Indian community’s steadfast support and enthusiasm for Modi’s vision of fostering a thriving and advancing India.
