Highlights:
BAPS Swaminarayan Mandirs across the United States joined the America250 celebration with events commemorating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
The celebrations included flag-hoisting ceremonies, community gatherings, cultural programs, open houses, and service activities at BAPS locations across the country.
Temples were illuminated in red, white, and blue as community members, veterans, local officials, and families gathered to mark the national milestone.
In Robbinsville, New Jersey, BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham hosted a flag-hoisting ceremony attended by veterans and community members. Families and visitors gathered to recognize the anniversary and express appreciation for the nation’s history.
Across the country, the BAPS mandir in Los Angeles held a flag-raising ceremony with local veterans and welcomed members of the wider community.
The event highlighted culture, values, and community service.
Four local mayors in Houston - from Sugar Land, Missouri City, Pearland and Stafford - joined the America250 celebration at the BAPS mandir. The event included the illumination of the mandir in red, white, and blue and the national anthem was played.
BAPS Charities also incorporated America250 themes into its annual walk-run events across north America, bringing together tens of thousands of participants to support organizations working in health, education, humanitarian relief, environmental protection, and social well-being.
Other events included interfaith gatherings, volunteer initiatives, and family programs focused on civic participation and community engagement.
A special message from His Holiness Pujya Mahant Swami Maharaj was shared as part of the anniversary observance, offering prayers for the United States and encouraging continued service to communities.
