Oberoi’s wife Gayatri Joshi acted in a film opposite to Bollywood superstar ‘Swades’ in 2004.

VIKAS Oberoi, a top realtor from Mumbai, and his wife Gayatri Joshi, a former actor who made her debut in Bollywood with superstar Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Swades’, were recently involved in a deadly car crash in Italy and had a close shave.
An elderly couple from Switzerland were killed in the accident that involved a number of vehicles on a rural road in Sardina in the south European nation.
According to reports, the pile-up happened when a number of supercars, including a Ferrari and Lamborghini, tried to overtake a camper van on the narrow road. Both the luxury cars almost rolled over, and the Ferrari caught fire, killing the Swiss couple travelling in it. They were identified as Markus Krautli, 67, and Melissa Krautli, 63.

Oberoi and Joshi were in the Lamborghini which rammed into the van and skidded off the track. Oberoi later confirmed to an Indian newspaper that they were doing fine but the couple in the other car were no more.
The accident happened during the Sardinia Supercar Tour, which sees a luxury car parade from Teulada to Olbia.
A video, captured from the dash cam of another car, showed the disturbing video in which several sports vehicles followed each other. The blue Lamborghini in which Vikas and Gayatri were travelling rammed the van and skidded off the road.
Oberoi is the chairman and managing director of Oberoi Realty Ltd, known for its high-end suburban condominiums. He also invests in sectors such as housing, hospitality and retail and others.
Oberoi, who studied in the University of Mumbai and the Harvard Business School, also owns a Westin hotel in Mumbai and is also constructing the first Ritz-Carlton hotel and residences in India’s financial capital.
Not related to the family behind the Oberoi hotel chain, Vikas Oberoi is also building a mall, hotel and office tower in midtown Mumbai.
He married Joshi in 2005 and the couple have two sons.
Apart from having keen interest in sports cars, Oberoi also possesses a pilot’s license and flies his Cirrus SR22 Tango aircraft. He also likes reading, travelling and skiing, The Financial Express reported.
