On the release day, Janhvi Kapoor visited the Tirumala temple in Tirupati to seek blessings. She began early in the morning and climbed the Alipiri footpath barefoot with her aunt, actor Maheshwari. She wore a simple kurta-pyjama and kept a low profile during the climb. Videos showed her taking short breaks and greeting devotees on the way.


Kapoor began the release day of her film Peddi with a barefoot pilgrimage to the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple in Tirupati. She climbed the 3,550-step Alipiri footpath early in the morning, accompanied by her aunt, actress Maheshwari. She wore a simple outfit during the climb and was seen greeting devotees along the way.

After reaching the temple, she later appeared in a purple silk saree with traditional jewelry, including earrings, necklace, bangles, and a waist belt. Her temple visit clips and images quickly spread on social media. She offered prayers and sought blessings ahead of the film’s release. The visit, widely shared on social media, marked a spiritual start to her high-profile Telugu film debut.

She has often visited Tirumala during important personal and professional milestones, including major film releases.

While she was in Tirupati, theaters across India saw large celebrations for Peddi. In Hyderabad’s Sree Ramulu Theatre, Ram Charan’s wife, Upasana Kamineni Konidela, attended a public screening. She joined fans, threw confetti, and celebrated during key moments of the film.

In Bengaluru, large crowds gathered outside theaters hours before shows began. Fans placed giant cut-outs of Ram Charan and celebrated with chants, music, and firecrackers.

The film opened to a strong early box office performance. It earned about $1.3 million net in India by 11 AM on its first day. Most of the earnings came from the Telugu version.

The film is made on a large scale with a reported budget of around $42 million. Industry estimates say it may need to cross $60 million worldwide, to be considered a major commercial success.
