The 2025 Met Gala took a dazzling yet emotional turn as several celebrities proudly showcased their pregnancies, redefining maternity fashion on one of the world’s most glamorous stages. Under the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” the evening not only paid homage to Black fashion and dandyism but also celebrated the beauty of motherhood with heartfelt flair.
Rihanna, known for her headline-making Met Gala appearances, stole the show yet again by revealing she’s pregnant with her third child with A$AP Rocky. Arriving fashionably late just after 10 PM, she made her blue carpet entrance count, donning a custom Marc Jacobs outfit.
Her look included a tailored wool jacket, a bustle-style skirt, a satin polka dot cravat, and a gray corseted bodysuit that highlighted her baby bump. A Stephen Jones hat and Cartier jewels completed the ensemble. Interestingly, she had already given fans a peek earlier in the evening wearing a fitted Miu Miu two-piece, confirming that when it comes to dramatic reveals, no one does it like Rihanna.
Making her historic Met Gala debut was Bollywood star Kiara Advani, who became the first Indian actor to walk the iconic Met steps while flaunting a baby bump. Pregnant with her first child, Kiara stunned in a custom Gaurav Gupta creation styled by Anaita Shroff Adajania.
The outfit featured an antique gold sculpted breastplate symbolizing the bond between mother and child, paired with a white satin cape trimmed in black. Kiara described the look as a tribute to the transformative journey of motherhood. Her accessories included 17-carat and 5-carat diamonds by Kantilal Chhotalal, and her soft waves and smoky eyes added an elegant touch.
Supermodel Karlie Kloss, pregnant with her third child, embodied maternity chic in a Victorian-inspired Luar gown. The black dress featured a sharp 3D collar, plunging neckline, and a fitted silhouette that flattered her bump. A high-slit pleated skirt and over-the-knee crocodile leather boots added an edgy twist. With minimal yet striking diamond jewelry and bold eyeliner, Kloss showed that motherhood is no barrier to haute couture.
Zinzi Coogler, wife of director Ryan Coogler, exuded effortless grace in a sleek body-hugging black dress paired with a Fear of God blazer. Expecting their third child, Zinzi’s minimalist look stood out for its elegance and comfort. Reflecting on her outfit, she said, “Every line and curve was carefully thought through. I felt beautiful, and more importantly, comfortable.”
The 2025 Met Gala was more than a fashion parade—it was a heartfelt tribute to women embracing motherhood with pride and style. From Rihanna’s third baby announcement to Kiara Advani’s record-breaking debut, the evening proved that maternity and high fashion can shine together.
It was a powerful moment in pop culture, one where baby bumps took center stage and rewrote the rules of red carpet glamor.
