INDIAN industrialist Anand Mahindra is known for his humour-filled takes on social media platform Twitter. He even responds to his baiters in funny ways and that only adds more to his almost 10 million followers.
On Tuesday (12), the Mahindra Group chairman once again showed his cheeky side on Twitter with a take on the ongoing political crisis in the UK, which is frantically looking for a new prime minister after Boris Johnson stepped down last week.
Mahindra shared a meme on 10 Downing Street, the official residence of the British premier, on Twitter and there, the door of the building was seen adorned with mango leaves and the red swastika sign on the pillars. Those ingredients and signs are generally used in the Hindu ritual of grih-pravesh or house warming.
The businessman was clearly suggesting that an Indian-origin individual in the form of Rishi Sunak could be the next prime minister. And if it became a reality, it would happen in the year when India turned 75 years as an independent nation.
“The future of 10 Downing Street? The famed British humour is now laced with Desi humour," the photo caption reads.
The tweet was retweeted more than 1,400 times and liked over 18,000 times.
Twitterati also responded to Mahindra's take with equally funny takes. Here are some:
