The pre-quarter final stage of the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar came to an end on Tuesday (6) with eight teams advancing to the quarter-finals. The four quarter-final games will be played on Friday (9) and Saturday (10) in which the four semi-finalists will be decided.
The eight teams that reached the last-eight stage are holders France; former champions Argentina, Brazil, and England; three-time runners-up Netherlands; Croatia; Portugal and Morocco, who stunned 2010 champions Spain in the penalty shoot-outs.
Here is the schedule of the quarter-final matches at the 2022 World Cup and the head-to-head records of the teams involved:
Quarter final 1: Croatia vs Brazil at Education City Stadium, Al Rayyan, on December 9, 2022
Head to head: Brazil lead 3-0 in four matches with one game drawn
Quarter final 2: Netherlands vs Argentina at Lusail Iconic Stadium, Lusail, on December 9
Head to head: Netherlands lead 4-3 in nine games with two draws
Quarter final 3: Morocco vs Portugal at Al Thumama Stadium, Doha, on December 10
Head to head: Both have one game each in two encounters
Quarter final 3: France vs England at Al Bayt Stadium, Al Khor, on December 10
Head to head: In 31 encounters, England have won 17 games, France nine while five games have ended in draw
The semi-finals will be played on December 13 and 14 and the final on December 18. The third-place qualifier will be held on December 17.
