How an Indian CEO opted Gemini as lawyer after a road rage incident

A Bengaluru CEO says Gemini helped him draft a complaint and understand the importance of getting a written police acknowledgement after a biker allegedly damaged his car, but his dashcam ultimately provided the evidence.

Gemini as lawyer

Gemini, by Dialani's account, helped him put his complaint into words and prompted him to seek acknowledgement from the police.

Highlights:
  • A Bengaluru CEO says Gemini helped draft his complaint
  • A biker allegedly kicked and rammed his car
  • The incident was captured on a dashcam
  • Police used the bike number to identify the rider
  • The dispute ended with an apology and payment for damages

When a road-rage incident turns confrontational, knowing what to do next can be difficult. For Bengaluru CEO Siddharth Dialani, an AI chatbot became part of that process.

According to his account shared on X and reported by Hindustan Times on September 21, Dialani used Google's Gemini after a biker allegedly damaged his car during a confrontation in Bengaluru.

Dialani said Gemini helped him draft a strongly worded complaint to the Koramangala police station and suggested that he obtain a written acknowledgement after submitting it.

He later summarized the experience by writing, “Gemini is my lawyer now!”

The comment was clearly made humorously. What the incident demonstrates more practically is how an AI tool can help someone organize their account of an event and prepare a written complaint when they may be unsure how to present what happened.

What happened on the Bengaluru road

Dialani said the incident happened between Sony Signal and Ejipura signal.

According to his account, a biker traveling with his wife believed Dialani's car had brushed against their motorcycle. Dialani said the biker made him stop, kicked the side of his car and then rammed the vehicle from behind.

He also alleged that the biker overtook his car and repeatedly braked in front of him in an attempt to intimidate him.

The situation could have become difficult to establish afterward if there had been no independent record. But Dialani said his car's dashcam had captured the incident.

That footage became an important part of what he submitted to the police.

The Dashcam became the key evidence

The most useful lesson from Dialani's account may not actually be the AI chatbot. It may be the dashcam.

Dialani said the recording allowed him to provide evidence of what happened, including the motorcycle's number. According to Hindustan Times, police used that number and information from their database to find the biker's phone number.

The biker was subsequently called to the Koramangala police station.

Dialani said the man initially maintained that Dialani had hit his motorcycle first. But after Dialani showed him photographs and raised the possibility of an FIR and criminal case, the matter took a different direction.

The biker eventually wrote an apology letter and paid for the damage to the car, according to Dialani's account.

Why the written complaint mattered

One detail in Dialani's account is particularly useful for anyone dealing with a similar situation: the importance of documenting the complaint.

Dialani said Gemini suggested that he ask the police for a written acknowledgement that the complaint had been submitted.

He said the police eventually provided one and worked to identify the biker using the available evidence.

This does not mean an AI chatbot can replace a lawyer or determine what legal action should be taken. Instead, in this case, it helped Dialani turn a stressful incident into a more structured written complaint.

The distinction matters. AI can assist with drafting, organizing information and identifying questions to ask. Formal legal advice, police procedures and decisions about filing a criminal complaint remain matters for the appropriate professionals and authorities.

AI helped organize the story but evidence did the work

Dialani's experience also shows why AI is most useful when paired with documentation rather than treated as a substitute for it.

His dashcam provided a recording. Photographs documented the damage. The motorcycle number helped police identify the rider. The written complaint created a formal record.

Gemini, by Dialani's account, helped him put his complaint into words and prompted him to seek acknowledgement from the police.

That distinction is important as more people begin using AI in everyday disputes. A chatbot can help someone communicate more clearly, but it cannot independently verify what happened on the road, authenticate evidence or make a police investigation happen.
