INDIAN-AMERICAN entrepreneur Danny Gaekwad has welcomed the stand taken by US vice president JD Vance in the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan.

The vice president told Fox News that the US will not intervene directly, even as it pushes both nuclear-armed neighbors toward de-escalation.

“We’re not going to get involved in the middle of a war that’s fundamentally none of our business,” Vance said.

He was referring to India’s Operation Sindoor that was launched on May 7 against “terror infrastructure” in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

This was in response to a terrorist attack on April 22 that killed 26 people in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.

When asked about Vance’s statement, Gaekwad responded, “I was really surprised listening to Vance. This is a fantastic news for India and a God given opportunity.”

The Vadodara-born businessman pointed out that people at that level do not speak this language.

“We have a clear mandate, go get it and if we miss this, we will not get again the same opportunity because Pakistan will work diplomatically with America and they will make sure that somebody get in the middle of it,” he added.

When asked about the rising tensions between India and the Pakistan, Gaekwad said, “I don’t think it will escalate. We have a small window of a week or ten days before whole… We are given a time and opportunity to finish the mission and our mission is to finish terrorism and anybody supporting terrorism, we must finish with India’s might, with India’s military, India’s economic power, this is it.”

Indians have been dying in terror attacks for nearly 30 years and hence we are well within our rights to retaliate, he added.

He pointed out that the presence of Pakistan army officers in the funeral prayers of those killed in India’s missile strikes shows that it is state sponsored terrorism.

Hence, India needs to “go and finish them openly.”

Gaekwad said that India is an economic powerhouse when compared with Pakistan, and hence it should not worry about the temporary setbacks to its economy.

On the other hand if terrorism continues, it will have more affect the economic progress of a nation in a long run.

Hence if your root out the menace of terrorism, it will usher in long-term prosperity of the country.
