Jim Carrey has married his longtime girlfriend, Min Ah, in a small private ceremony in Los Angeles.
The 64-year-old actor’s representative confirmed the marriage to People on Wednesday, while TMZ reported that the couple tied the knot in a private ceremony.
The wedding comes after Carrey and Min Ah spent several years together while largely keeping their relationship away from the public eye.
Jim Carrey’s relationship with Min Ah
Carrey publicly acknowledged his relationship with Min Ah earlier this year while attending an awards ceremony in France.
During his acceptance speech, the actor thanked his family before referring to Min Ah as his “sublime companion”.
“Thank you to my wonderful family, my daughter Jane, and my grandson Jackson. I love you now and forever. Thank you to my sublime companion, Min Ah,” he said.
Carrey also thanked his late father, Percy Joseph Carrey, during the speech.
The couple kept their romance private
Carrey and Min Ah have reportedly been together for several years.
In February 2022, photos published by Just Jared showed the couple leaving a charity comedy show hosted by Judd Apatow at Largo in Los Angeles.
Despite the public sighting, Carrey has generally kept details of their relationship private.
That approach reflects the actor’s preference for a quieter life away from Hollywood. In a 2022 interview with Access Hollywood, Carrey said he was considering stepping away from acting because he enjoyed his private life.
“I really like my quiet life,” he said at the time, while also explaining that he could return for a project he felt was particularly meaningful.
Jim Carrey’s previous marriages
The marriage to Min Ah is Carrey’s third. He was previously married to actress Lauren Holly from 1996 to 1997 and Melissa Womer from 1987 to 1995. Carrey and Womer share a daughter, Jane.
