HOLLYWOOD stars Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz will team up again for "Day Drinker," a thriller from Lionsgate.
Marc Webb, known for "500 Days of Summer" and "The Amazing Spider-Man" series, is set to direct.
The film is about a bartender aboard a cruise ship who crosses paths with a mysterious day drinker. The two characters soon find themselves connected through unexpected ties within a criminal underworld.
"Day Drinker" represents the fourth collaboration between Depp and Cruz, following their roles together in "Blow," "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," and "Murder on the Orient Express."
The project is being managed by Chelsea Kujawa at Lionsgate, with Dan Freedman handling negotiations for the studio.
This film is Depp’s most notable recent project since controversies surrounding his divorce from Amber Heard. Meanwhile, Cruz was recently featured in the sports drama "Ferrari," released in 2023.
