Riddhima Kapoor Sahni has spoken about the guidance and encouragement she received from brother Ranbir Kapoor and sister-in-law Alia Bhatt as she stepped into acting with her debut film Daadi Ki Shaadi.
In a conversation with ANI, Riddhima revealed that both Ranbir and Alia offered valuable advice before she faced the camera. Sharing what they told her, she said, “I got tips from my mother, from my brother, from Alia, they said be yourself, don’t overact, don’t underplay, just go with the flow, and just do whatever you feel.”
The advice, according to Riddhima, helped her approach the role with confidence and authenticity. Following the film’s release, she received positive feedback from viewers and people from the industry, many of whom appreciated her natural screen presence.
Riddhima also opened up about Ranbir Kapoor’s reaction to her performance. While she admitted that the two did not get much time to discuss the film in detail after its release because of their busy schedules, she said her brother was supportive of her work.
Recalling his response, she shared, “He said I had great screen presence. To be honest, after the promotions ended, we all went back to our lives. Ranbir got busy with his shoot, so I never really got the chance to sit down and discuss it with him.”
Apart from Ranbir, Alia Bhatt also had words of praise for Riddhima’s debut. The actor spent time with her after the film’s release and shared her thoughts on the performance.
Speaking about Alia’s feedback, Riddhima said, “But I did spend some time with Alia, and she told me, ‘You were very natural, and very confident for a debut film. Your screen presence was amazing.’ So those were the kinds of conversations that were happening, and of course, it felt very encouraging to hear that.”
For Riddhima, the support of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt was particularly meaningful as she took her first steps in the film industry. Their advice to remain true to herself and their appreciation of her performance became some of the most memorable reactions she received after her debut.
