INDIAN prime minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday (13) reached the UAE on a two-day visit during which he met the country's top leadership and addressed members of the Indian diaspora before inaugurating the BAPS Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi. In between, he visited Dubai where he met other top leaders of the UAE and delivered a keynote address at the World Government Summit.

In a landmark victory for the Indian-American community, Mamta Singh has become the first Indian-American ever elected to public office in Jersey City, winning a Council At-Large seat during a major political shift in the city. Her election coincided with reformist Councilmember James Soloman's sweeping with in the mayoral runoff, but Singh's breakthrough quickly became the defining moment for the city's large Indian diaspora.
Jersey City is home to tens of thousands of Indian-Americans, especially in neighborhoods like Journal Square and Exchange Place. Despite the city's vibrant Indian community and the iconic India Square that earned it the nickname 'Little India,' no Indian American had previously been elected to City Hall.

The United States is moving toward one of its most sweeping immigration and security policy shifts in recent years, with plans to broaden its travel ban from the current 19 nations to well over 30, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has confirmed. Speaking on Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle, Noem said the administration is in the final stages of reviewing which additional countries will be added, although she declined to specify the exact number.
When pressed about reports that the list could grow to 32 nations, Noem did not confirm the figure but stated, “It’s over 30, and the president is continuing to evaluate countries.” She emphasized that national security remains the top priority.
